Weekend's Almost Over

So I missed a post last night and the night before. I know, I got mad too. But I came up with an idea. Since from now on, I'm coming home every weekend, except a few where I have to go on a road trip for school, I'm only gonna post once, on Sunday, and have a song of the weekend. Sounds good to me.

I had a pretty good weekend, nonetheless. Friday night, I hung out with my future sister, Blair, my future brother, Brian, and my Highland buddy, Jody. Donna made lasagna for us before she went out to eat with her sister so we had lasagna which was amazing. Then Blair, Jody, and I went out to get some stuff to make rice krispies treats and Blair bought us liquor since she's the only one old enough too. We came home, Brian was playing a really awesome game, Heavenly Sword I think it's called. Us girls got drunk, passed out, yadda yadda yah.

Saturday, I had to work from 10-4 cst. I had a bunch of people come in the shop being assholes and what nots. I had a few cuss me out because of our rules. But oh well. So the best part of my day: I watched middle-aged men watch Wall-E on a display TV instead of watching football on the other display TV five inches away. The worst part: cutting the tip of my finger where no band-aid sits comfortably. Haha. After work, I met up with my dad at the cell phone place to switch my line onto his plan so he could save money since he pays for my phone while I'm at school. In June, he gets to renew his contract so I might get a new phone. Nothing fancy. I want to go back to a regular flip phone. Right now I have an LG Scoop which is the slider phone that has the keyboard. I don't like it as much as I used to. But yeah. After that, I had to have my phone updated because it kept shutting itself off and it was annoying. It's fixed now. I hope. Finally, after 3 hours, my phone was back in my hands and Donna, my dad, Brian, and I went out for dinner. We went to Chili's which is one of my favorite places in town. Yum. And then, we called it a night.

Today, I've only been up for an hour or so right now. I haven't done much. Later on this afternoon, Brian and I are gonna hit the road back to Highland. I have some homework I need to do. I have to do about three or four desktop publishing projects which aren't due til Tuesday but better do it now so I have free time to do nothing.

Well, that's all I can think of right now. It's been a pretty quiet day. Dad's gonna grill hamburgers for lunch, hotdogs for me though. :)

OH. I almost forgot. The song of the weekend. Which is:

"Riding With Private Malone" by David Ball

Alright, that's all for this post.

Have a fantastic rest of the weekend.

Bad Day

So yeah, I had a pretty shitty day.

It began last night when my roommates were watching GAC (great american country) at the Grand Ol Opry. Wynonna Judd sang her version of "I Can Only Imagine" originally sung by MercyMe. June of 2008, my mom passed away, and my uncle made a slide show full of pictures of her and he had it playing to that song so it gets me everytime I hear it. So obviously last night I was thinking about my mother and of course I cried, all that good stuff. When I cry, I generally never sleep at night and this was like an hour before I usually go to bed so it was like fuck. So I didnt fall asleep until about 1 in the morning. I didnt have to get up until 8:30 am but I tossed and turned and woke up every hour throughout the night. I was pretty cranky all day but I tried not to let it show but it did anyway. I had a lot of comfort from my friends so I'm feeling a bit better. Chase sent me a video of the Chipmunks singing "Bad Day". The Chipmunks cheer me up so that helped. Then I was listening to my iPod and a really good song came up that I sang for another upset friend last night. I picked that song for my song of the day.

Yep. "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas.

Sorry about the spanish subtitles but the other video I found like this one, the music was way off from his lip movements and that stuff bugs me.

But yeah. I love this song. It cheered me up definately. Talking to my dad helped too.

So I'm okay now. I get to go home tomorrow, spend time with family and friends and I'll be back, happy as ever. I'll try to keep up my posts over the weekend like my goal said I would.

Have a safe and fantastic weekend!

Boring Wednesday

I hate Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I have a 9 am class Monday and Friday, and an 8 am and a 9 am class on Wednesday. So I have the whole day to do absolutely nothing. You'd think that'd be fun but it's not. There's nothing to do in this town unless I wanted to do my laundry but why would I do that when I still have plenty of clean clothes and I'm going home this weekend? I dunno. I guess I could start on my homework due next week but why would I do that either? Dunno. I'm not going to. I need something to do at work on Saturday.

So I'm pretty psyched for the weekend. I'm coming home friday with my soon-to-be-brother. Nothing like a 2 hour road trip with a back seat driver. Gonna be fun. No really though. He's a nice guy. Looking forward to it. Hopefully late Friday night, my friends and I can go see Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. I really really want to see that. More than any other movie out there. I'm a vampire girl but werewolves are pretty cool. So, Saturday I have to work 10am-4pm CST. When I get off, I think my friend Hazel and I are gonna hang out. So far our plans are go out for dinner and then go to a coffee shop for a bit to catch up on college life and fun stuff. Sunday, I dont know what's planned. Hopefully I can hang with my dad for a bit before I have to head back to Highland. We'll see.

Speaking of Highland, I had to buy a planner today cuz I got tired of writing my homework down on tiny pieces of paper cuz I'd lose them but I havent missed a homework assignment yet and I dont want to. So I bought an awesome planner with our cool school logo on it (which is a scottie dog) and I bought a lanyard. You know, one of those things you throw around your neck, has your keys on it? Yeah, those things. It's blue and gold, our school colors, says Highland Community College on it, has my dorm key, room key, and mailbox key on it AND it unsnaps down by the keys so in case it's around my neck, I can unsnap the keys and take the keys off.. ya know. It's pretty cool. It was only $4. A k-state one would've been like $20.. pssh. But anyway, I'm getting into the school spirit.

For a few hours now, Chase and I have had a discussion over what makes a salad. To me, since this is MY blog, and it's MY opinions, MY thoughts, a salad is just lettuce because I dont put veggies and crap on it. I add dressing of course but it's just lettuce, nothing else. What an interesting arguement between two college kids. Pfft.

Alright, onward to the song of the day. I had a toss up between "Rough and Ready" by Trace Adkins, "Benefit of Mr. Kite" by the Beatles, or "Rebirthing" by Skillet. Althought the decision was hard, I chose the Beatles because you can't go wrong with them. "Benefit of Mr. Kite" is an awkwardly awesome song. I'm not going to give away much detail but I'm sure ya'll will figure it out.

So apparently it's from the movie Across the Universe. I found it quite funny but it's not how the song goes. Here's how the song really goes:

I love the Beatles with a huge passion. I'm sure more of their songs will be my song of the day.

P.S. I hated their mustache phase.

1.27.09

Good evening. Or morning. Or night. Wherever you are. I guess technically it's night here but saying "good night" would show I'm going to bed. Something of that nature anyway.

Today was a so-so day. I didn't have class yesterday because of a campus holiday so I dreaded getting up this morning. At least I didnt have to wake up super early like most. I had a 9.30 class so I got up about 7.30, hit snooze a few times, finally got up, ate breakfast, etc etc. I was done and ready to go by 9 so I sat in the living room of my dorm/apartment whatever and watched "The Real World: Brooklyn." I absolutely love that show. Well, I love this season anyway. For those of you who don't know what that show's about, it brings 8 total strangers together to live in a house for... who knows how long. It's a reality show if you want to put it in laments terms. I dont know why but depending on the show, I'm probably obsessed with reality shows. If my roommates didn't like to watch them either, I'd be screwed out of my reality shows! Luckily they do and we have MTV on like 24/7 so it's all good.

So I'm going to try to blog more since that's what this site is about. As much as I talk to people or have fun events, I should post more. And I will. I'm officially making that my new year's resolution. Blog more. You all witnessed it! Posting every day is my new goal. And if I dont... someone slap me with a fish.

As I said yesterday, I was going to attempt to have a new song each day, or at least each week, well today I have a new favorite song and I'll post a video in a sec. This song is called Excess by Tricky. It's a good song. A great song actually. It was played on the movie Queen of the Damned so it's about vampires. I'm not sure why I chose this song for the day but it's really catchy, especially the girl when she sings. Ok, I think I blabbered enough. On to the video!

So I couldn't find the song attached to a collage of clips from the movie but at least you get the song without Final Fantasy being in it. *insert rolling eyes*

I need to hit the sack. I got a 8 am class which means 6 am wake up.

Good night, everyone!

1.26.09

Happy Australia Day!
Happy Chinese New Year! 2009 is the Year of the Ox. How cool is that.
I wish the United States had something so cool. But nooo. Sigh.

Anyway,

I wanted to share my favorite song of the day which is "The Impossible" by Joe Nichols. I might start doing this every now and then; posting a song I happen to like everyday or at least when I post. I can't post the music video for it because YouTube won't let me .. lolz.. but here's one with lyrics:

On another note,
I want to talk about Abortion.

If you agree with it, stop reading now.
If you don't, read further... you'll be amazed ....

Abortion is murder in my eyes. From the time of conception, a baby is a baby whether it be a fetus or embryo or whatever. IT'S STILL A BABY. And killing it is just the same as killing a full grown man/woman. It's murder, manslaughter, whatever you want to call it.

On my two hour drives from either home to school or school to home, I see many signs that say, "I'm a child, not a choice." or "Mother's choice = baby's life"

A child is a child, not a choice. If a woman decides she wants a baby, and goes through the process to make one, she better damn well keep it. No woman should be able to change her mind during those 9 months and say she doesn't want it anymore, abort. DON'T abort it! Have the baby and give it up for adoption for crying out loud. There's no reason in the world a baby should have to lose its life before it's given the chance to prove itself. Even in rape cases, I still dont believe in abortion. There is ALWAYS adoption. ALWAYS, people. Some of you would like to tell me, "What about in the case that birth could cause a mother or child's life?" Simple. If a mother is willing to have a baby, she's will to die for it. And it's not often that case comes up anyway.

My sociology teacher, Mr. Brainerd, showed us a website, www.poodwaddle.com/worldclock.swf, it is an official site, and under "Death" on the left hand side, there is a total for number of Abortions since the start of the year. As of right now, 4:23 pm, CST, since January 1st, 2009 at 12:01 am, there has been 2,925,179 abortions. There is an average of about 2 abortions every second. EVERY SECOND 2 babies lose a life because of God knows what reason. That's just plain ridiculous. I say ban abortion, but that's just me, and just me alone can't pass a law as such.

And now I leave you to dwell on that number.

Tell your friends.

Check out the link I provided to keep an accurate count of abortions, deaths, births, people with diseases, etc. Just check it out.

Thanks.

How Inappropriate

So oh my god.

The night before last, I was laying in bed trying to fall asleep. It was around 10.30 pm or 11, I dont remember which. But all of a sudden, I hear awkward moaning and phrases I will not repeat. So I opened my bedroom door and what do I see?! MY ROOMMATES HAVING A DAMN FOURSOME IN OUR LIVING ROOM. Really, guys?! Right out in the open! They thought I was asleep which I thought was funny because my light was on and that was visible in the crack under my door. Unless they didn't care if I saw, which I did anyway. But yeah, talk about awkward...

So on another note.

The two tv's in the Caff play cartoons in the mornings. Isn't that nice?

And the three tv's in the gym play the food channel. How wonderful is that? Sucks for you softball players that are on a diet. HAHAHA. I feel your pain. NOT. LOLz.

Alright, I'm heading to the Caff for breakfast (no not to watch the cartoons).

Have a happy Friday!

1.14.09

Today started off not bad.
I started classes today.
I had one at 8 am and one at 9. So I had to get up before the sun. Ugh.
My 8 am class is for BPA (Business Professionals of America) and its Professional Development. It teaches us how to be ... "proper"... says Mrs. Leatherman... I only have that one Wednesdays... hoorah.
My 9 am class is Intro to Business. Pretty self explanatory. I have that one Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. But Mr. Boschee (pronounced bo-shay) is really cool.
Tomorrow I have 3 classes. Let's see... Sociology at 9:30, Philosophy at 12:30, and Desktop Publishing at 2. Woohoo. DTP again. YAY.

So that's a short post I know but I'm going up to the Caff (cafeteria) to meet my roomies for lunch. Then free afternoon until my appt. with Mrs. James.. woo.

Alright, LATERZ

1.7.09

Alright, first post of the new year.

It's been an awesome year so far. I finally figured out how to change my eyebrow ring the other night. That was pretty exciting. I figured, ya know.. if I just bought a new one and then learned how to unscrew that one, I could figure out how mine unscrews. So I did that and felt stupid when I discovered that I had been trying to unscrew my old one in the wrong direction. So I got it out and put my new one in, which is a rainbow colored spiked one. It's awesome. Except when I take a shower and when I go to dry my hair with the towel, the towel always gets stuck on the spike. Every time!!! I'll never remember to be careful. Never. One of these days I'll rip it out. You'll see.

So that's that part of my new year.

The next part is I'm getting a new family.

My dad is getting married within the next few months (date unknown at this moment). So I'll have a new mom, Donna. And she has 3 kids, Blair, Brian, and Bilan. But wait! Blair is also getting married this year (October 3rd) and I totally get to be a bride's maid. But when she gets married, technically her husband, Mark, will be my brother. Bilan has a bf, idk if it'll last, but if it does, there's another 'brother'. Brian will eventually get married. And so will I. And we're all going to have kids making our family HUGE. Does anyone realize how much money we're all going to spend at christmas now? Loads. And I spent a lot last year and none of them are family yet! Goodness. But oh well, I'm pretty stoked. I thought I had a big family already but there's more! Weeee.

So, I'm moving to a new college in 5 days. I'm pretty nervous but at the same time, I'm not. I'm really excited because, thanks to Blair, I kind of have a new friend. Her name's Jody. And we figured out that we have a class, Intro to Ethics (sociology I think), together this coming semester. Sad part is, this is her last semester :( BUT the awesome part is, I'm eligible to graduation in may of 2010 instead of december 2010. I'll get to graduate with my new brother, Brian. Woopeee..

That's pretty much it for my new year's rant.

Hope ya'll had a safe and awesome holiday!
