What a trip.

So, it's been a while.

I'm supposed to be in Texas right now for our BPA national competitions. But I'm not. Why? You might ask. Swine flu. That's why.

Yep. Our national competitions got post-poned until June 17-20 because (and I guess now that I think about it, it's a smart idea) the leaders of BPA didnt want 4,000 kids (literally, nationals have about 4-5 thousand kids from across the nation) all in one area so close to Mexico. And I guess Texas has it pretty bad right now. But still. My theory was, "Well, what if it gets worse by June?" My advisor said they may cancel it completely. That right there pisses me off because we've all worked hard this semester to get where we're at. Everybody except Rory and I (who are both new this semester) had all of last semester to prepare for state which gets us to nationals. I had a month before state to prepare myself and I had no flippin' idea what I was doing. But whatever I did, I did it right since I made nationals.

I'll be in Texas when it's like 150 degrees down there and I'll be in pants. PANTS. Shorts are not allowed in the Professional Dress code. FML.

To kind of make it worse, June 18 was when my mom died last year so I'll be away from family who I'll want to spend my time with then. But, things come up I guess and I'll manage one way or another.

On a more funny subject.

Yesterday, I had the best trip of my life. Literally. I tripped. On my flip flop. I was sitting in my desk chair and my left leg was wrapped around one of the chair's legs. I went to stand up, tripped on my right flip flop, fell forward a little bit (the chair came with me of course). The chair was on it's back 2 legs with the front edge of the seat in the air and I fell smack dab on the edge. And this is a wooden chair. It hurt. But wait, I'm not done. I tried to stand back up again because I was still on the edge of the chair and I tripped again. This time with my left flip flop. I think it got caught in one of the desk drawers. But anyway, I went forward and finally landed on the bed post. It happened to fast and so... AWESOMELY that if there was a video camera person near by, we would have totally won AFV's grand prize. Totally.

So I'm left with a bruised butt and the back of my leg is bruised so it's hard to sit but it's feeling better today.

That's all I really have to talk about right now and it's still early in the day. We'll see what else pops up.

Later!
